Many people are surprisingly unaware of the existence of the ISS or what happens aboard it on a daily basis. This talk describes the Space Station and how it was built into the impressive laboratory that it is today. Some of the important research facilities aboard the ISS are shown along with combustion and fluids experiments that have been performed in space. Very interesting physics and behavior are possible in a microgravity (“zero-g”) environment, and the results of the experiments help improve the design and manufacturing of many products back here on earth.
